Hi kittens, I felt like I had to write something after listening to the first mixes for the 50th time last night. We said we wouldn’t say much till it was actually released but that’s proving pretty hard to do!

I won’t divulge too much other than how friggin great its sounds. When we began making it, stylistically we had an idea of our direction, but its obvious that already its taken its own path. And in no way is that a bad thing. We’re kind of chasing it at the moment, and its [...]]]>

Hi kittens, I felt like I had to write something after listening to the first mixes for the 50th time last night. We said we wouldn’t say much till it was actually released but that’s proving pretty hard to do!

I won’t divulge too much other than how friggin great its sounds. When we began making it, stylistically we had an idea of our direction, but its obvious that already its taken its own path. And in no way is that a bad thing. We’re kind of chasing it at the moment, and its telling us what it needs next. Its still reined in of course, its not gunna be some horrible mish-mash! But I won’t bleat too much about it. Its on its way.

Obviously the most important thing is making it as absolutely perfect as possible, and so far the experience gained from recording our last EP’s has helped along the way. Our method of writing is very Organic, and conversely when we record we’ve found we have to really be almost mechanical about things which takes a bit of getting used to. Golly gosh we cannot wait to get it out there.

Before then though we’ll be releasing a single from the album. We’re also planning a tour too, to promote the album. A proper tour. All the way up to Shetland and all the way back down again. So make sure you all do us a massive favour and bloody buy the thing when it comes out!!

Thats it. We’re almost there. The thing that we arranged month upon months ago is almost upon us.

No, not the album. Like a mother cares for its newborn fledgling we are nurturing it into existance. However, Doune the Rabbit Hole is almost here! and we’re totally stoked for it. New songs, new set…Happiness is. We have so many new songs we are actually having to drop awesome songs so they all fit in. Thsi is the thing we wanted…It’s the reason why we have been hibernating for most of this year, except we have not been sleeping. [...]]]>

We are very happy to announce that O’Neill (Yup. O’Neill. The Surf and clothes brand) are featuring one/some/all of our tunes from our last EP, Hard to Shake It Hard to Love It on some of their various skate and surf video’s! Friggin O’Neill!! We’ll keep you all posted about links etc if and when they become available. We just couldn’t keep that news quiet.

The Album

We have a name for it. We have a whiteboard, with working titles on it. We have whittled down over 40 songs to a rather spectacular handful. (You’ll have to wait to find out exactly how many). And we have some exciting people on board to help us make it great. You may have noticed we have no gigs sheduled until DTRH, that will change when tour dates are finalised. I cannot stress how excited we are about all this. Must. Remain. Cool…..

So that’s it. We’re working away and what’s more, enjoying every damned minute of it.

It’s been a great year for us in 2011. We have managed to write and release a really great EP “Hard to Shake It Hard to Love It” and play so many gigs I cudnt possibly count. We’ve had gigs fraught with technical difficulties, gigs that should have died a death but somehow turned into some of our best shows ever and gigs that were just everything we expected them to be. Awesome! Sometimes it’s been a bit [...]]]> 2012 is on its way then? Yowza, in 3years we shud be all driving hover cars and have self dry jackets. Nice.

It’s been a great year for us in 2011. We have managed to write and release a really great EP “Hard to Shake It Hard to Love It” and play so many gigs I cudnt possibly count. So 2012 cometh. It hopes to bring some more of these good times. Including finishing our elusive documentary. We’re also already booking gigs…mostly for after Easter but we have got 3 rather awesome and amazing shows lined up already, of which we’ll post about in a few days.

Ok ok. Our first gig of 2012 is on 13th January with BETATONE DISTRACTION! And is at the new Art School venue hosted by Gerry Blythe at New Life. We’ll be headlining and its completely and utterly FREE. yes.

Yo! So, we got asked to play King Tuts supporting touring bands Turbowolf, Hawk Eyes, and The James Cleaver Quintet. The bill was a little heavier than what we’re used to…(well apart from the Black metal band we almost played with Dundee…ahem) but we had lots of fun. The crowd was great, and although the stage was rather much bigger than us, we did our best to fill it.

Got shifted to last on the bill!

Yo! So, we got asked to play King Tuts supporting touring bands Turbowolf, Hawk Eyes, and The James Cleaver Quintet. The bill was a little heavier than what we’re used to…(well apart from the Black metal band we almost played with Dundee…ahem) but we had lots of fun. The crowd was great, and although the stage was rather much bigger than us, we did our best to fill it.

Since then we’ve managed to secure a swanky new practice place with the lovely chaps of Kochka . Its friggin great, and the acoustics really suit The Red Show’s sound. So we’re gunna dabble a bit over the next months

In other news we’re playing a gig soon in Aberdeen at [...]]]> So incase you don’t know, we’re in the process of making a documentary about The Red Show and our latest recording. I don’t want to spoil the surprise and say too much about it yet, but the footage so far is making us very excited. The idea in the first place came from the recesses of Gareth’s brain, then collectively we decided it might be cooler to do something like this rather than a new music video. That’s not to say we might not do something else soon though.

The new stuff has alot of potential and we want to do them justice so we won’t be releasing anything new until next year…an even then we arn’t sure how or what format it will take. In the meantime make sure you buy our latest EP Hard to Shake It Hard to Love It. We still have a few Limited edition litho printed Digipaks left. We’ll even post it to you.
